On a positive note, the Red Wings are having a look-in-the-mirror kind of moment with everybody saying they need to play better, that the current state of things is unacceptable, etc. Their record, you ask? 9-2-3. Ahhh, the joys of cheering the winged wheel.
Seriously though, I'm just hoping, at this point, that Detroit still has all four of its franchises in ten years. The Big 3, who probably deserve to go bankrupt anyways, are now in an environment in which even Toyota is posting losses. Really, anyone remember the last time Ford even turned a profit? The only part of downtown Detroit that doesn't resemble a throwback to the 1960's is the Renaissance Center/GM HQ. If they lose their occupants, well, the office space should be cheap, at least.
Back to sports, I predict here and now the Wings will be the first team to repeat since the Wings in '97-'98. Seriously, take last year's dominating team and THEN you add Marian Hossa? Fuhgetaboutit.
